You heard it folks! Chris Komer—principal horn of the New Jersey Symphony—said, “I don’t know how much Charleston knows this, but this is a world-class orchestra.” 🎻🎶🎺

The Charleston Symphony is happy to have principal tubist of the New Jersey Symphony Derek Fenstermacher and principal horn of the NJSO Chris Komer with us for this week’s Masterworks performances. We asked Chris and Derek what makes the CSO special and why they like coming here to play with us.

🌟 Derek, who is joining us for the first time, mentioned how much he appreciates being able to contribute to the stellar art scene here in Charleston.

🌟 Chris—with a shout out to our incredible Personnel Manager Tom Joyce—noted that once musicians play with the CSO, they just keep coming back. We’re a fun and exciting orchestra, according to him. (We don’t disagree).

We also asked both musicians what food recommendations they had for other guest performers who come to Charleston and they said:
    •Rodney Scott’s bbq 🍗
    •Delaney Oyster House 🦪
    •Marble & Rye 🍕

If you missed last night’s performance, be sure to come to the Gaillard tonight (Friday, October 12) at 7:30 to listen to Derek and Chris and the rest of our world-class orchestra.
